Transport
The Tube
The London Underground, or The Tube as it's known, is the easiest way to get around London. With its huge network of lines spanning the city, including tourist attractions and neighbourhoods, the Tube makes it quick and easy access to iconic landmarks, tourist hotspots, and shops, making it the best option for getting around London cheaply and quickly.
Contactless pay as you go
You can use any contactless card to pay for travel on the Tube, bus, tram, DLR, London Overground and most National Rail services in London. Simply tap you card on the yellow card readers at the start of your journey and again at the end - and you are done. You'll be charged an adult-rate Pay As You Go fare each time you make a journey. Be sure to tap out at the end of your journey though or you'll be charged the maximum fare (or worse risk a fine).
Oyster Card
An Oyster Card is another good option and can be used to travel on the Tube, buses and overground train services throughout London. You can even get a Visitor Oyster Card delivered before you arrive in the city. These cards can be topped up at any train station or many shops throughout London.
Bus
The famous London red buses are another option for getting about. Buses run regularly covering the entire city. Again you can use a contactless card or Oyster card to tap in and out of your journey.
Taxi
Next we have the unmistakeable black London hackney cabs or private hire cabs. Travelling around London in cabs can be extremely expensive though so we would definitely recommend sticking with the The Tube and buses if possible.
Uber
Uber operate in the city but again can be rather expensive depending on the journey or demand at that time. Same as above - only use this option if desperate and instead try and make use of the cheaper public transport available.
Ride hailing apps
The must have ride hailing apps to ensure you can get from A to B
Internet speed
As you'd expect the internet in London is pretty solid with fast speeds and wifi available pretty much everywhere.
