Liverpool is a place where locals greet you with a smile, football is life, and the music of The Beatles still fills the air.

When you're not working, there's loads to do. You can check out the historic Albert Dock, the free museums and galleries, or just wander around the city's unique neighbourhoods and shops.

Transport

Train

One of the easiest ways to get around Liverpool is by train. The Merseyrail network covers the entire city and surrounding area and is one of the busiest rail networks in the UK outside of London.

There are four main underground stations in the city centre - Central, Lime Street, James Street and Moorfields.

There are also regular trains from Lime Street Station to other cities such as Manchester, Leeds or London.

Bus

Liverpool is also served by a decent bus service with regular services into and around the city centre. You will find the main bus terminal at Liverpool One and others at places such as Queens Square in the city centre.

Saveaway

A Saveaway ticket is a one-day off peak ticket that allows you unlimited travel on trains and buses throughout the city and surrounding area. It's the cheapest option if you plan on exploring and can be bought at any Merseyrail ticket office.

Taxi

You will see tons of black cabs lined up at taxi ranks throughout the city centre or you can call private cabs. Delta are probably the largest private hire taxi company in the city.

This isn't the cheapest option however so we would only recommend using taxis when absolutely necessary.

Ride Hailing

A cheaper option (depending on the destination) could be Uber which operates in the city or Comcab - which lets your hail black cabs via their app
