Seminyak is one of Bali's more popular areas, offering digital nomads a mix of work and play that's hard to beat. By day you can settle into one of the many co-working spaces or cafes, all with fast wifi and loads of power of outlets for your laptop.
Come the evening you'll find tons of dining options, beach clubs, and bars where the scene gradually turns social. There's usually a noticeable Aussie party crowd here, particularly at weekends; evident in the fun atmosphere at many places without spoiling the overall feel.
Living in Seminyak can mean higher living costs and busier streets than some other areas of Bali. Traffic can be a challenge, and you might pay a bit more for the convenience of having everything within reach. But it does have great shops, sidewalks (unlike Canggu) and a great beach.
So if you enjoy a setting where you can easily go from a solid workday to a great night out, Seminyak might be just the right fit for you.

Transport
Scooter or Motorbike
In Seminyak, public transportation is practically non-existent, making scooter or motorbike rentals the go-to option for most visitors.
You'll find numerous rental shops throughout the area, with prices starting around 850,000 IDR per month for a small scooter like a Honda Scoopy. For larger models such as the Honda Vario or Yamaha NMax, expect to pay upwards of 1.8 million IDR.
However, keep in mind that the traffic and road conditions in Seminyak (and Bali in general) can be quite chaotic, so only consider renting a bike if you have a valid bike license, appropriate insurance, and confidence in your riding skills.
Gojek
If riding a bike isn't an option for you, then Gojek is a brilliant alternative. Gojek allows you to book rides (cars and bikes), order food, and even shop for groceries, among other services.
It's super affordable and provides upfront pricing, eliminating the need to negotiate fares with drivers. A must-have app in Indonesia, Gojek is sure to make your stay in Seminyak much more convenient.
Grab
Similar to Gojek, Grab is another must have app. It offers the same range of services, including ride-hailing, food delivery, and more. Since different restaurants and deals are often available on each app, having both Gojek and Grab is beneficial. Plus, Grab operates in other countries like Thailand, making it a useful tool if you're planning to travel beyond Indonesia.
Internet speed
The internet in Seminyak is decent and pretty reliable. Pretty much all cafes and coffee shops have free wifi so there shouldn't be any issues.
