Safety

safe

Langkawi is generally safe for tourists, with low crime rates and a welcoming local culture, though standard precautions should still be taken.

Where to stay

1. Patai Tengah

Patai Tengah (and nearby Pantai Cenang) is a lively beach area on the southwest coast of the island. There is plenty of accommodation options and cafes from which to work. However, it can get crowded and internet speeds may vary. Overall, it's a good shout for short-term stays but not ideal for long-term remote work

2. Kuah Town

Kuah Town is the main commercial hub of Langkawi, offering a good mix of amenities and attractions. It's very convienient and provides easy access to all the essentials. However, it does lack the charm and natural beauty of beach areas.
